What do you think about my article- Tribute to Gary Neville?
When he walks into the tunnel after his last game at Old Trafford- all- excluding the away supporters are sure to be choked with emotion. It wouldn’t be a grand occasion like those expected for his long time team mates Paul Scholes or Ryan Giggs but it sure should be. For here retires the best right back England has seen in the last fifteen years- Gary Neville. Thus far, Gary Neville has won eight Premier League titles, three FA Cups, two European Cups, an Intercontinental Cup, a FIFA Club World Cup, and three League Cups, the first one of which was his first trophy as captain. But he is accused of being “carried by the team” and “declining after Beckham left”. There are too funny contradictions here- One is finishing second or third and not winning the league (which Man.United did for three years after Beckham) certainly doesn’t mean its players are in decline. The second being Gary was still a great player after Beckham left and it was Beckham who declined after failing to establish a successful partnership with any right back after Gary. Gary is a quiet man in his private life. Accusations of him being angered at a lady who did not recognize him in a super market did arise – yeah – but he has been a quiet figure in private life. He is a family man- a faithful layer- a pionate captain- one who is a role model to aspiring youngsters who would want to get into the good books of the gaffer. Gary is described as “the one who does his job”. After all a team would bag all glories if the igned people did their job. Gary’s job is running up and down the right flank, putting in crosses – which he has done perfectly over the last decade or so. Few can argue that Gary let down his country. In fact Gary has never let down his country – evident from the fact that should he have been called up for SA 2010 – he would have gone. It was he who gave the interview after the loss to Portugal. When he does walk down the tunnel after his final match – All United supporters SHOULD applaud Neville the Red Devil. As for the others- they can talk the talk but Gary has walked the walk- to hell with them (which is exactly the Gary attitude)
