Do you check your oil level and tire pressure at least every month or every 3000 miles? Those are both essential elements in maintaining good fuel economy. If the engine and other components are not properly lubricated, they have to work extra hard to get the thing to move. Tires filled too much or too little can cause extra pressure and friction which requires more effort from the engine to cancel out and therefore leads worse gas mileage. Checking both of those frequently is a good start for any fuel miser.
