Do u think of Buy Direct ? is it worth it?

We were members a long time ago of something similar called United Consumers Club, and, in fact, the Direct Buy franchise here now occupies the same location. It cost a lot less than $5000, but it was a complete waste of money. We ended up not buying one item through them, because it was very inconvenient to have to go there (17 miles away) just to look through catalogs. You couldn't see what you were buying like in a store, and at the time, you never got a fair comparison because what was in the catalog was always a little different from you could find anywhere else. The savings were nowhere close to what the sales pitch promised. The refund policy was practically non-existent and you had to pay in full when you placed the order, and then wait, sometimes months. Maybe things have changed, but I still would never join that type of outfit. Too easy to window-shop online, decide exactly what you want, and then buy it locally if it's cheaper.
