Virtual villager's 3... I can't find the picter plant?

I have completed nature level two. I found the berry plant for magic but i had chosen nature and I don't see anything. I know it is the orange flower near where the kids go, and I keep placing my tribe members in that area but nothing ever happens. My tribe is starving and we need to get rid of those sharks. What should I do?
